Cloverhill Golf Club - Robbie Norton Strikes Gold

The early start for the silver medal winners in the final for the Gold paid dividends as most of the play was in good conditions before the high wind and rain came. Still scoring was not all that great with Miceal McGuinness and Nial Smyth returning nett 71 to top the leaderboard. Robbie Norton from Dundalk came out of the pack, to shoot a nett level par 69, off a 16 handicap, which was good enough to see him win the Gold Medal.

Conditions also took their toll on the singles stableford competition with 36 points from Seamus McCoy good enough to see him safely into the winners enclosure.

Sunday next Oct 26 is the last Major competition of the year. The final Golfer of the Year stableford competition is kindly sponsored by Gerry McShane, Trinity Print, Carlingford.

The Individual 5 WEEK Winter League incorporating the following 3 categories 0-12, 13-19, 20-28 will commence on Monday 27 of October. The competition will run from Monday to Sunday each week with the best four cards out of 5 to count towards the individual honours in each section as well as the overall winner.
