Cloverhill Golf Club - 5 Points Between Top 7

After three rounds of the 12 hole Winter league only 5 points seperate the top seven players. Brian Ryan with 85 points is top of the pile with a one point lead over Anthony Hillen. Liam Harte and Stephen Markey are on 83 points with Ollie Martin next on 82 with John Byrne fifth on 81. Dermot Smyth with 80 points makes up the top six.

In the team event the team led by Captain Stephen Campbell with Stephen Markey, Brendan Byrne, Larry O Rourke, Liam Harte, James Coburn , Paul Owens and Ollie Reel are 2 points clear of the team led by Shane Grant which includes Mark Conlon, Joe Carroll, Sean Moan, John Byrne and Noel Magill. Patrick Malone, Vincie Gorman, Peter Byrne, Shane Muckian, Dermot Smyth, Colin Millar , Colm Trainor all on the team captained by Jim McKay are in third spot on 323 four points behind the leaders. With four more weeks to run there is plenty of time for things to change

The individual winner this week was Joe Carroll with 32 points which held off the challenge of Peter Byrne by a point for second spot on the countback from James Coburn.

As the year draws to a close members are reminded that all nominations for Committee must be submitted in writing a week prior to the Annual General Meeting which has broken protocol by being staged for the first time on a Sunday. Sunday Dec 5 at 2pm in the clubhouse should see the best attended AGM ever with the influx of new members and the continual growth of the club on an upward spiral in tough times.
