Cloverhill Golf Club - Sean Conroy Stuffs the Bird
The fourth week of Eclectic/ Turkey competition saw a lot of midweek activity from a few players who have moved up significantly in the overall stroke competition. It was Sean Conroy (7) who took the weekly first prize with a 30 point return for the 12 holes which was two better than second placed Jim McKay (3) with the very consistant Raymond Martin (10) finishing third with a third consecutive 27 points. The current joint overall leaders are Fr Kevin Cullen (7) and Andrew Brodigan (8) who have a nett 34 with Peter Smyth (11) and David Pilkington (3) two shots further back in joint second place. Pearse Murphy (10), James Coburn (8), Sean Conroy (7), Raymond Martin(10), Noel Magill (10), Mark Conlon (7), Barry McKeown (7), Paddy Malone (5), Ronnie Clarke (11), Cathal Hughes (11), Mark Shevlin (11), Clint Rushe (11), Colm Traynor (6), Kieran Crozier (6) and Mickey Rushe (7) form the 15 strong group that are a point behind the second placed duo.
Our Seniors on Thursday saw Heber McMahon make away with the Xmas bird with Fr Cullen and Sean Conroy plucking a wing apiece for filling the minor placings. The turkey competition which will continue this Thursday. The Cloverhill last person standing is down to two people with Karla Casey and Eugene Creelman battling it out for the £300 first prize Don't miss out on the next one as names and money are now being collected.
All is set for the Captains 60's Charity Themed night next Saturday Dec 3. Members can still contribute by purchasing a ticket priced at £5.All proceeds including those collected for missing the green at hole 7 during the year will go to local charity C.U.B.S.
