Cloverhill Golf Club - James Coburn tops the Podium

The fifth week of the 12 Eclectic/ Turkey competition produced a new winner with James Coburn (8) improving on his third week third place by winning with 30 pts which proved 2 better than regular podium finisher David Pilkington (3) who now has two firsts and two seconds to his name in the five weeks played. Mickey Rushe (7) was third with 27 pts. The current overall standing with 2 more weeks to go sees the top twenty players within 4 shots of the joint leaders as the search for birdies and eagles intensifies in this nett stroke play event. It is a three way tie at the top between David Pilkington (3), Fr Kevin Cullen (7) and Pearse Murphy (10) on nett 33 with James Coburn (8) and Andrew Brodigan (8) a shot in arrears. Peter Smyth (11) , Raymond Martin (10) and Mark Shevlin (11) are in joint third spot with a nett 35


Our Seniors on Thursday saw Frank Ryan make a successful return to the fold celebrating his recent retirement with a win which takes care of the Christmas dinner leaving runner-up Noel Magill with just the stuffing. The turkey competition which will continue this Thursday. The Cloverhill last person standing continues as Karla Casey (Man City) and Eugene Creelman (Tottenham) continue to battle it out for the first prize in the true spirit of the competition. But it's getting harder now that all the top sides have been used up. Don't miss out on the next one as names and money are now being collected.
