Cloverhill Golf Club - August Medal Provides Low Scores

The second installment of the Golf Psychology practical session worked wonders for those going out to play in the August Medal which produced some great scoring with a multitude of the field coming in with a par round or below. Nett 66'S from Paul Owens (10) and Fr Cullen (16) were passed by a quartet of nett 64's from Stephen O Hara (11), Seamus McGivern (19), Patrick Devine (20) and Raymond Flynn (16). Captains prizewinner Gavin McErlene (13) was joined by the Pilkington brothers Colin (5) and David (6) all with nett 63's but then Barry McKeown (17) flexed his muscles to take the lead with a nett 62 only to be bounced out of first place by Seamus McParland with a similar score but a better back nine. There will be a 3 category singles stableford competition this coming weekend. Seamus McGivern and Joe Pilkington will be leading their respective Rossmore Cup and Sam Rutherford teams into two legged semi-final action before the end of the month against Edenmore and County Armagh .
