Cloverhill Golf Club - Spring League

Ivan Whelan finished his round off well with three solid pars to give him 21 points on the back nine and a total of 40 points which was good enough to top the scoring charts on week three of the Spring League. Team mate of Ivan’s Joe Carroll was one of three players to record the second best score of 38 points which helped their team The Crooners to extend their lead at the top of the table. Frank Quinn & Colm Traynor of  The Presidents Men team were the other two players to hit 38 points which helped their team to second place 5 points behind the leaders.

Joe Carroll on 123 points is leading the individual scores from Colm Traynor who has 119 and Mark Hughes with 117. Anthony Boden on 115 and Ivan Whelan with 114 points fill the next two places with two weeks remaining.
The Seniors newest recruit Anthony Murphy showed the field a clean pair of heels in the second round of the Thursday 12 hole Spring League. Anthony was the overall winner with 32 points from Noel R Williams in second place. The second section was won by Joe Callaghan with Peter McCreesh in close attendance.   Upcoming events another Texas Holdem will take place at 4pm on Sunday March 15. The Captains Drive-In on Sunday March 22 9pm followed by a shotgun start scramble. The last weekend of the month sees the first of the monthly medal competitions taking place..
