Congratulations to Micheal

Congratulations to student member Micheal McGuinness who is off golfing next week end with none other than Darren Clarke. Miceal a student at St Coleman’s College was selected for his performances in the inter-colleges competitions to get to play with the famed professional. Darren will also provide the visiting students with a teaching clinic as well as a chat. Micheal is one of the most progressive players in the club and it is great to see his efforts and passion for the game being rewarded.

There was a very good entry for the first turkey competition of the year with some hot scoring off the green markers before the Christmas dinner found its destination. Colin McParland (9) with 43 points was the winner with new member Mark Keogh (10) filling in second spot a point behind Colin with Noel Magill (20) third with 41 points. The variety of membership is such that Mullaghbawn, Scotland and Dundalk were represented in the winner’s enclosure.The second of the turkey competitions will run from Monday Nov 12 to Sunday Nov 18.

The Annual presentation night in the clubhouse will be held on Saturday November 24 with music by Charlie. The Annual General meeting will take place on Monday November 26 at 8-30 sharp.
