President Par Putts Performance
Club President Seamus McCoy produced the performance of a lifetime as he putted his way to 12 consecutive par’s in the second round of the 12 hole Spring League .Seamus was in sparkling form as he watched putt after putt find the bottom of the cup from varying distances for an untouchable return of 35 points. The best ever return from Seamus has given him a 10 point lead in the14-20 section with Joe Hazzard and Joe Carroll tied in second spot. Daniel Hughes had 28 points in the same section to finish runner up one point ahead of Tony Fenton and Mark Hughes.
The 0-13 section saw first competition winner of 2008 Sean Campbell top score this week with 25 points one more than overall leader after two weeks Mark Keogh. Frank Quinn is a point behind Mark in the overall placing. The high section 21-28 brought a tie with Jim Conroy and Mickey White both hitting the 25 point mark. Noel Magill remains in front with Pat Crossan in second in the overall standing. Remember members of the league can put in their cards any day during the week once the card is signed by another member of the Spring League.
In the 18 hole Seniors Scramble on Thursday it was Jim McDonnell, John Byrne and Vincie Gorman that took the spoils ahead of a few more fancied trios. The first round of the Seniors Spring League commences on Thursday.
Congratulations to Pat O Hare who had a hole in one at the twelfth on his way to a winning 44 points off the green markers in the St Patrick’s, Belfast society outing.
A reminder that the Captain’s Peter Byrne and Anne Murphy will be hosting their drive-in on Sunday 16 March @ 8-30 followed by a shotgun start scramble for all members. Please put your name on the timesheet posted in the clubhouse for inclusion in the draw for teams for this event.
