Spring League Final Week

The final week of the Spring league saw the fireworks fail to materialise with the leaders of the three sections prevailing as their nearest challengers failed to mount a serious challenge. With the best three out of the four weeks to count a good return on the final week could see a few surprises at the final countdown.

The 0-13 won by  Mark Keogh on 74 points from Sean Campbell who finished with 71. The 14-20 saw runaway leader Club President Seamus McCoy consolidate his position with a final return of 29 points leaving him dropping his lowest 12 hole total of 24 to finish with 90 points for the three rounds Daniel Hughes finished as runner –up some 8 points shy of the winners total.

On Thursday the Seniors Spring league second round saw a return to form for Noel Williams who emerged as winner from the consistent Fr Cullen In section two Brendan Brown held off the challenge of Peter McCreesh to capture the honours.

Sunday March 2 is a fourball better ball competition, arrange your own partner. Various team captains will be using this competition to put some of their expected inter-club competition pairings together. The following week will afford a similar opportunity as it is a foursomes competition.

A reminder that the Captain’s Peter Byrne and Anne Murphy will be hosting their drive-in on Sunday 16 March @ 8-30 followed by a shotgun start scramble for all members at 9 pm. The draw for teams for this event will take place on Sunday March 9.
